Additional notes regarding the technical specifiaction of Hyosung GT-650 Comet:
- The fuel economy (fuel consumption) shows either how much fuel the motorcycle is consuming per 100 kilometers or haw many miles you can ride it with a single gallon of fuel. The fuel efficiency of Hyosung GT-650 Comet based on its technical specifications will let it run for 41.3 miles burning one gallon of fuel. It also means that it will burn 5.70 liters on a 100km trip. So if Hyosung GT-650 Comet has a tank full of 4.5 gallons of fuel it can be ridden for 185 miles till we run out of gas. Of course we better make sure we top it up again before that happens.
- Engine displacement of 647 cc - this refers to the volume described by the movement of a single piston in the cylinder multiplied by the number of the cylinders the engine has. Engines with bigger displacement volume tend to produce more power and usually have bigger fuel consumption. It is usually measured in cc (cubic centimeters) or l (liters) and according to the specifications above Hyosung GT-650 Comet has an engine displacement of 647 cubic centimeters.
- 150 mm ground clearance is the shortest distance measured from the ground to the chassis of GT-650 Comet. Lower ground clearance means better handling while higher clearance equals more practicality.Bore and stroke diagram of Hyosung GT-650 Comet
- Bore and stroke 81.5x62 - these parameters may be presented as bore/stroke ratio in some technical specifications. This ratio refers to the diameter of the cylinder bore divided by the length of the piston stroke. According to the technical specifications of Hyosung GT-650 Comet its bore is 81.5 mm and the stroke is 62 mm. GT-650 Comet has a short stroke engine because in this particular case the bore of the Hyosung engine is bigger that the length of the stroke.
- Compression ratio 11.6:1 means that the volume of gas in the cylinder when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke refers to the volume of gas when the piston is at the top of its stroke as 11.6:1. To avoid engine knocking when compression ratio is high those motorcycles might be recommended to use premium fuel only. With internal combustion engines the higher compression ratio allows higher efficiency because the combustion temperature is reached with less fuel.
- Chain final drive: Depending on the purpose of the motorcycle and its characteristics usually one among the three possible final drive options is preferred. On sport bikes the chain drive is preferred while most cruisers and touring bikes tend to be designed with belt or shaft drive. Bikes have been designed with all three variations of the final drive for many years and each of them has performed well for the purpose it's been used. The final drive of Hyosung GT-650 Comet is chain.
final drive implemented with chainChain final drives are known for their simplicity and efficiency in driving power from the engine to the rear wheel of the motorcycle and are one of the most popular final drive options by far. However they are not as smooth as belts and shafts and also require frequent care like cleaning and keeping the chain properly lubricated.
- Liquid cooling: cooling the engine and keeping the heat off the biker is one of the concerns in today's motorcycle designs. Liquid cooling is better for the engine in high traffic and speeding but its biggest advantage is that liquid cooled engines tend to produce more horsepower.Hyosung GT-650 Comet turn signals - replacement
- You can easily find out how to replace the Hyosung GT-650 Comet turn signals and quickly do it yourself. When disconnecting the wires of your motorcycle turn signals it is advisable to stick distinct tapes on them if they are not color coded. In the case of box connection all you have to do is clip off both ends (the male and female). After making sure that the new Hyosung GT-650 Comet turn signals sit in the housing properly you may proceed with connecting the wires.Picture of Hyosung GT-650 Comet cover
