Additional notes regarding the technical specifiaction of Aprilia RS4 125:
- The fuel consumption (fuel economy) of a motorcycle shows either the mileage that can be achieved with a certain amount of fuel (mpg) or the amount of fuel needed to cover certain mileage (L/100km). In the specific case the fuel economy of Aprilia RS4 125 allows you to ride 60.3 miles with one gallon of fuel or in other words it will burn 3.90 liters of fuel on a 100 kilometers (62 miles) run. Taken into consideration that it has a 14.5 liters (or 3.8 gallons)s fuel tank capacity it can be calculated that Aprilia RS4 125 can run 372 kilometers or 231 miles with a full fuel tank.
- Engine displacement of 124 cc - this refers to the volume described by the movement of a single piston in the cylinder multiplied by the number of the cylinders the engine has. Bigger displacement volume usually means more powerful motorcycle engine and less miles per gallon. The engine displacement is measured in cubic centimeters (cc) or liters (l) and for Aprilia RS4 125 it is 124 cc as per the specifications above.
- 135 mm or 5.3 inches ground clearance - this is the distance between the ground surface and the lowest part of RS4 125 not counting the tyres of course as they are meant to be in contact with the ground. Lower ground clearance means better handling while higher clearance equals more practicality.Bore and stroke diagram of Aprilia RS4 125
- 58x47 bore and stroke - bore is the diameter of the piston which equals the inside diameter of the engine cylinder. On the other hand stroke is the maximum length that the piston travels up and down inside the cylinder every stroke. The diameter of the cylinder of Aprilia RS4 125 is 58 mm and the piston stroke is 47 mm based on the technical specifications above. For this particular Aprilia engine bore is bigger than stroke meaning that RS4 125 has a short stroke engine.
- Compression ratio 12.5:1 of a motorcycle engine is the ratio of the volume of the combustion chamber when the piston is at the bottom of the stoke and its volume when the piston is at the top of the stroke. Motorcycles with higher compression ratio may be recommended to use premium fuel only in order to avoid engine knocking. It plays a big role in engine efficiency because bigger compression ratio means better thermal efficiency and more mileage with the same amount of gas.
- Chain final drive: All three variations of the final drive (shaft, belt and chain) are perfectly doing their job and one of them is always preferable depending on the type of motorcycle and it can not really be said which one of them is the best as each one has its advantages on certain occasions. Manufacturers have used all of them over the year and each one has turned out to be a workable technology. The final drive of Aprilia RS4 125 is chain.
chain final driveOne of the most economical way to drive horsepower from the engine to the rear wheel of the motorcycle is achieved with the chain drive and therefore it is still the most used among the three options by bike manufacturers. The down points of the chain drive are the frequent maintenance required as it needs to be regularly cleaned and oiled. Besides it is not as smooth as a shaft or belt drive.
- Liquid cooling system: both air and liquid cooling systems serve the same purpose to keep the engine in an optimal temperature range and they both have their advantages. Although the liquid cooled motorcycle has a radiator and hoses and require more maintenance it provides better regulated temperature to the engine.Aprilia RS4 125 - installation of turn signals
- You can easily find out how to replace the Aprilia RS4 125 turn signals and quickly do it yourself. Reconnecting the motorcycle turn signals cables would not be a problem as these wires are generally color coded. After locating the bolts that hold them in position you will have to remove them. Connect the wires properly after the new Aprilia RS4 125 turn signals are placed in position.UV and dust protection cover for Aprilia RS4 125
When choosing a motorcycle cover the dimensions of the Aprilia RS4 125 should be taken into consideration. If any additional aftermarket accessories have been installed on the bike they may have an effect on the dimensions. The cover length, width and height might need to be bigger if saddle bags, fairings or backrest have been installed on the motorcycle.
