Looking at the detailed specifications of both motorcycles Yamaha XJR 1300 and Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 is a proper approach to determine which of the two is more likely to match your style of riding and to satisfy your preferences. When trying to make your mind on the next motorcycle, your personal levels of comfort should be the leading criteria. After comparing one motorcycle versus another and so on, the circle of favourite models will be then eventually narrowed to several ones. The best way to explore them is to actually sit on these bikes and check how much comfort you get with each of them.

Yamaha XJR 1300 has bigger engine size than Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 but this is not a direct indicator for more power or better performance. The second bike has the advantage of greater compression ratio of 11.5:1 than the other one. It represents the relation between the biggest and the smallest volume in the combustion chamber while the piston is performing its stroke movement. When the mixture of air and fuel in the combustion chamber has bigger pressure (higher compression ratio) when it is ignited then it burns more effectively and therefore these bikes tend to have better fuel economy (comparing engines with equal displacement).
The bike with a better fuel economy is the Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 which can travel 37.6 miles with one gallon of fuel. Yamaha XJR 1300 on the contrary can travel 35.6 miles with a gallon. There are two ways of showing the fuel economy of a motorcycle - describing how many miles it can travel with a single gallon of fuel (mpg) or how many litters of fuel it is burning on a 100 kilometer trip (l\100km).
front and rear tiresIf the time to replace your motorcycle tyres has come then you need to find the proper new ones. Picking the proper type that matches your individual style of riding is very essential. Tires have a code of numbers and letters printed on their sides and these are important to be understood properly when looking for matching tires. The first of these numbers shows how many millimeters the tire is wide. Both motorcycles have the same with of their front tires - 120 mm. The aspect ratio of the tire is represented by the second number of the code. The diameter of the rim is represented by the third number in the code. Prices of motorcycle tires can easily be compared online and purchesed at good price.
The ground clearance (ride height) of Yamaha XJR 1300 is 125mm and is smaller than the clearance of Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 which is 135mm. The ride height is the other name of the parameter ground clearance which refers to the measure from the tyre base to the underside of the cassis of a motorcycle. This is the shortest line between the body of a motorcycle and the surface of the road.
The top speed of 258km/h makes Yamaha XJR 1300 the faster of the two motorcycles. The other one (Yamaha Fazer FZ-1) can achieve a maximum speed of 246km/h according to its technical specifications. However sources may vary as to whether these top speed parameters are precise or only approximate.
motorcycle with chain final drive Both motorcycles Yamaha XJR 1300 and Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 have the same final drive - chain. Chain drives are by far the most popular final drive technology in the history of motorcycles and are the most economical way to drive power from the engine to the rear wheel. However all chains require keeping an eye on them and proper lubrication when they get dry and cleaning when they get dirty.
Compression ratio 9.7:1 means that the volume of gas in the cylinder when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke refers to the volume of gas when the piston is at the top of its stroke as 9.7:1. Based on the information from the technical data of the motorcycles the values are accordingly 9.7:1 for Yamaha XJR 1300 and 11.5:1 for Yamaha Fazer FZ-1. To avoid engine knocking when compression ratio is high those motorcycles might be recommended to use premium fuel only. If you got a motorcycle with a greater compression ratio for its specific engine it is getting better fuel economy than it would if it had a lesser compression ratio.
Engine oil is among the most important aspects of an engines health. Many different types of engine oils are available as minerral, part-synthetic and synthetic and they all come at different price. As a general rule it should be changed on every 6000 kilometers or 3700 miles. With synthetic oil though you can run as far as 8000 kilometers (5000 miles). Depending on the oil filter it needs to be replaced on each or every two oil changes. According to the technical specs the engine oil capacity is 4.2 litres for Yamaha XJR 1300 and 3.7 litres for Yamaha Fazer FZ-1. The oil capacity here is just to give you a rough idea of how much oil you need on an oil change. The best way to pour the exact quantity of oil is to observe the dipstick or the level sight window.
