The detailed comparison between Yamaha MT-07 and Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 can help you decide which one of them will suit you better. When you know what specifications and features of a motorcycle will make you personally comfortable with it then your choice should be all about this criteria. After comparing one motorcycle versus another and so on, the circle of favourite models will be then eventually narrowed to several ones. The most appropriate method of exploring them is to actually ride each of them or at least sit on them to see how they feel.

Although Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 has a bigger engine displacement than Yamaha MT-07 it doesn't necessarily mean it is more powerful or better performing bike. Both bikes has the same compression ratio of 11.5:1. This represents the biggest volume of the cylinder when the piston is located at the lowest point of the stroke compared to the minimum volume of the cylinder when the piston is at the highest point of the stroke.
The bike with a better fuel economy is the Yamaha MT-07 which can travel 50 miles with one gallon of fuel. Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 on the contrary can travel 37.6 miles with a gallon. Measuring the fuel economy in mpg shows how many miles of ride are covered by a gallon of fuel and measuring in l/100km shows the average fuel consumption in litters for every 100 kilometers riding.
motorcycle tiresIf the time to replace your motorcycle tyres has come then you need to find the proper new ones. Another considerable factor here is your own riding style. You need to know what the code designators printed on the tire mean in order to be able to find the proper size for your bike. The first of these numbers shows how many millimeters the tire is wide. Both motorcycles have the same with of their front tires - 120 mm. The aspect ratio of the tire is represented by the second number of the code. The diameter of the rim is represented by the third number in the code. Prices of motorcycle tires can easily be compared online and purchesed at good price.
Yamaha MT-07 has bigger ground clearance than Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 (140mm vs 135mm). Usually given in millimeters in the technical data sheets, the ground clearance refers to the space between ground level and underside of a motorcycle’s chassis and sometimes is called ride height. This is the shortest line between the body of a motorcycle and the surface of the road.
Comparing the top speed values of both motorcycles we can see that Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 is the faster one with 246km/h. As per the technical data of Yamaha MT-07 it would be behind it on the highway with 190km/h. However sources may vary as to whether these top speed parameters are precise or only approximate.Liquid cooled engine of a motorcycleThe same method of engine cooling is used on both motorcycles - liquid cooling. The pretty constant ranges of operating temperature are typical for the liquid cooled engines. Once the operating temperature is reached (the engine is warmed up), it runs at a pretty constant temperature. The main principle is circulation of the liquid between the radiator and the engine. If the motorcycle slows down to a point where the air flowing through the radiator is not enough to lower the temperature of the coolant to the needed level, a thermostat will typically switch an electric fan on to increase the air flow through the radiator. Liquid-cooled engines are usually more forgiving because the hot engine has some surrounding coolant to heat up before causing any damage from overheating.
motorcycle with chain final drive Yamaha MT-07 and Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 are both driven by chain. Chain final drives are known for their simplicity and efficiency in driving power from the engine to the rear wheel of the motorcycle and are one of the most popular final drive options by far. However they are not as smooth as belts and shafts and also require frequent care like cleaning and keeping the chain properly lubricated.
Compression ratio 11.5:1 means that the volume of gas in the cylinder when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke refers to the volume of gas when the piston is at the top of its stroke as 11.5:1. The value of the compression ratio of Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 is 11.5:1 based on the information in its technical data and for Yamaha MT-07 the ratio is 11.5:1. To avoid engine knocking when compression ratio is high those motorcycles might be recommended to use premium fuel only. Higher compression ratio means bigger pressure of the fuel/air mix in the combustion chamber and better efficiency achieved of its ignition.
One of the most important aspects of the basic level of maintenance of a motorcycle is the engine oil. Mineral and part-synthetic engine oils are cheaper when it comes to price in comparison with the most technically advanced synthetic motor oils. As a general rule it should be changed on every 6000 kilometers or 3700 miles. If you you synthetic oil then bigger mileage can be allowed between oil changes. Replacing the oil filter is also to be considered on each engine oil change. Both motorcycles have different oil capacity according to the technical specs - 3.0 litres for Yamaha MT-07 and 3.7 litres for Yamaha Fazer FZ-1. When changing the oil it is advisable to put less than the specified oil capacity and to check the level. Pouring exactly the proper amount of oil needed is achieved by observing the level sight window or the dipstick marks.
