Looking at the detailed specifications of both motorcycles Kawasaki ZZR 600 and Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 is a proper approach to determine which of the two is more likely to match your style of riding and to satisfy your preferences. The decision on your next motorcycle purchase should be all based on your personal preferences for speed, handling and comfort. The long personal list of favourite motorcycle models can be narrowed to just a few ones after comparing their pictures and technical specifications. Then these bikes in question could be best explored on the road where handling, performance and comfort of sitting position can be best felt in action.

Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 has bigger engine size than Kawasaki ZZR 600 but this is not a direct indicator for more power or better performance. The first bike has the advantage of greater compression ratio of 12:1 than the other one. This is the ration of the volumes in the cylinder in two stages of the stroke when the piston is at the lowest and then at the highest point in the cylinder. When the mixture of air and fuel in the combustion chamber has bigger pressure (higher compression ratio) when it is ignited then it burns more effectively and therefore these bikes tend to have better fuel economy (comparing engines with equal displacement).
The bike with a better fuel economy is the Kawasaki ZZR 600 which can travel 44.4 miles with one gallon of fuel. Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 on the contrary can travel 37.6 miles with a gallon. When measured in mpg the fuel economy shows how many miles can be traveled with a gallon of fuel. Alternatively when measure in l\100km it shows the fuel consumption in litters per 100 kilometer trip.
bike tiresEach motorcycle should be fitted with the type of tyres that are specified for it. Your individual riding style is another factor that determines which type is appropriate in your case. To choose the right tire size firstly you need to understand the meaning of the numbers printed on the size of the tire. The width of the tire measured in millimeters is shown first. Both motorcycles have the same with of their front tires - 120 mm. After that comes the aspect ration shown by the second number in the code. How many inches is the diameter of the rim - that is what the tird number reveals. Looking online for motorcycle tires is a good way to easily find the right size at low price.
The ground clearance (ride height) of Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 is 135mm and is smaller than the clearance of Kawasaki ZZR 600 which is 145mm. The ride height is the other name of the parameter ground clearance which refers to the measure from the tyre base to the underside of the cassis of a motorcycle. In simple terms that would be the shortest line among all the lines drawn between the surface of the road and any mechanical part of the motorcycle.
Comparing the top speed values of both motorcycles we can see that Kawasaki ZZR 600 is the faster one with 247km/h. As per the technical data of Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 it would be behind it on the highway with 246km/h. However sources may vary as to whether these top speed parameters are precise or only approximate.Liquid cooled engine of a motorcycle
Those two motorcycle use the same cooling system - liquid. Motorcycles with liquid cooling operate at narrower temperature ranges. Once the operating temperature is reached (the engine is warmed up), it runs at a pretty constant temperature. The water pump drives the coolant from the engine into the radiator and back. The amount of cooling can be regulated via thermostat, which helps holding the temperature at a relatively constant level. Finally this type of cooling makes it is easier to meet emissions and noise regulations and increase power output.
chain driven motorcycle Chain final drive is used with both motorcycles - the Kawasaki ZZR 600 and the Yamaha Fazer FZ-1. Chain final drives are known for their simplicity and efficiency in driving power from the engine to the rear wheel of the motorcycle and are one of the most popular final drive options by far. However all chains require keeping an eye on them and proper lubrication when they get dry and cleaning when they get dirty.
Compression ratio 12:1 means that the volume of gas in the cylinder when the piston is at the bottom of its stroke refers to the volume of gas when the piston is at the top of its stroke as 12:1. As mentioned in the information of their technical data the values of the compression ratios are 12:1 for Kawasaki ZZR 600 and 11.5:1 for Yamaha Fazer FZ-1. This is actually the relation between the biggest and the smallest capacity of the combustion chamber. It plays a big role in engine efficiency because bigger compression ratio means better thermal efficiency and more mileage with the same amount of gas.
Motorcycle oil is one of the most important components that keeps the engine running smoothly. Many different types of engine oils are available as minerral, part-synthetic and synthetic and they all come at different price. The engine oil is to be changed on every 3700 miles (or 6000 kilometers) as a general rule. If you you synthetic oil then bigger mileage can be allowed between oil changes. Some oil filters can be replaced on every second oil change while others are to be replaced on each oil change. Both motorcycles have the same oil capacity of 3.7 litres in their technical specs. This oil capacity values are with informative purpose only. Observing the currrent level on the dipstick or the level sight window is the best way to pour the proper amount of oil.
