A good way to figure out whether Kawasaki KLX 125 or Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 is better matching your personal style and requirements is to compare their specifications and features in details. The decision on your next motorcycle purchase should be all based on your personal preferences for speed, handling and comfort. A good way to narrow the circle of favourite bikes is to compare their technical specifications and select just a few that are really matching your style and needs. A good way to find the most suitable one among them would be to sit on each of them and if possible ride it for a while.

The bigger engine size of Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 in comparison to Kawasaki KLX 125 doesn't mean that it is more powerful or better performing bike. The second bike has the advantage of greater compression ratio of 11.5:1 than the other one. This parameter shows how the volume in the engine cylinder when the piston is at the bottom end relates to the volume when the piston is at the top end. When the mixture of air and fuel in the combustion chamber has bigger pressure (higher compression ratio) when it is ignited then it burns more effectively and therefore these bikes tend to have better fuel economy (comparing engines with equal displacement).
The bike with a better fuel economy is the Kawasaki KLX 125 which can travel 73.5 miles with one gallon of fuel. Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 on the contrary can travel 37.6 miles with a gallon. Miles per gallon (mpg) is one way of describing the fuel economy of a motorcycle and liters per 100 kilometers (l/100km) is another.
bike tires Motorcycle tyres come in variety of sizes and these sizes are strongly specified for each model. Your individual riding style is another factor that determines which type is appropriate in your case. You need to know what the code designators printed on the tire mean in order to be able to find the proper size for your bike. The first of these numbers shows how many millimeters the tire is wide. The second number show the aspect ratio. The third number shows the size of the rim - its diameter measured in inches. Looking online for motorcycle tires is a good way to easily find the right size at low price.
Kawasaki KLX 125 has bigger ground clearance than Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 (255mm vs 135mm). Usually given in millimeters in the technical data sheets, the ground clearance refers to the space between ground level and underside of a motorcycle’s chassis and sometimes is called ride height. That, in other words, is the smallest distance between any mechanical body part of the motorcycle and the surface of the road.
Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 appears to be faster than Kawasaki KLX 125 with top speed of 246km/h against 105km/h for the other bike. However sources may vary as to whether these top speed parameters are precise or only approximate.
final drive implemented with chain Kawasaki KLX 125 and Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 are both driven by chain. Most motorcycles are produced with chain drive because of its economical way to transfer power to the rear wheel and convey the biggest percentage of engine power in that process. However all chains require keeping an eye on them and proper lubrication when they get dry and cleaning when they get dirty.
Compression ratio Imagine an engine's piston is at the bottom of its stroke (step one) and moves up compressing the gas in the cylinder till it reaches its top position of the stroke (step 2). The compression ratio is the ration of the volume in step one over the volume in step two. The value of the compression ratio of Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 is 11.5:1 based on the information in its technical data and for Kawasaki KLX 125 the ratio is 9.5:1. This is actually the relation between the biggest and the smallest capacity of the combustion chamber. It plays a big role in engine efficiency because bigger compression ratio means better thermal efficiency and more mileage with the same amount of gas.
Engine oil is among the most important aspects of an engines health. Engine oils are different types as synthetic, mineral, part-synthetic and they all come at their price and qualities. 3700 miles (6000 km) between oil changes is widely accepted rule. If you you synthetic oil then bigger mileage can be allowed between oil changes. The oil filter needs to be replaced too and that is usually to be done with the oil change. The oil capacity of Kawasaki KLX 125 is 1.1 litres and the engine oil of Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 is 3.7 litres as per their technical specs. The oil capacity information is only to get an idea of how much oil roughly will be needed on oilchange. The proper amount of oil needed is best judged while observing the reading on the level sight window (or the dipstick).
