Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 has bigger engine size than Hyosung GT125R but this is not a direct indicator for more power or better performance. The second bike has the advantage of greater compression ratio of 11.5:1 than the other one. This represents the biggest volume of the cylinder when the piston is located at the lowest point of the stroke compared to the minimum volume of the cylinder when the piston is at the highest point of the stroke. When the mixture of air and fuel in the combustion chamber has bigger pressure (higher compression ratio) when it is ignited then it burns more effectively and therefore these bikes tend to have better fuel economy (comparing engines with equal displacement).
The bike with a better fuel economy is the Hyosung GT125R which can travel 90.5 miles with one gallon of fuel. Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 on the contrary can travel 37.6 miles with a gallon. There are two ways of showing the fuel economy of a motorcycle - describing how many miles it can travel with a single gallon of fuel (mpg) or how many litters of fuel it is burning on a 100 kilometer trip (l\100km).
motorcycle tiresIf the time to replace your motorcycle tyres has come then you need to find the proper new ones. Another considerable factor here is your own riding style. The code designators located on the side of each tires is something that you should be aware of if you want to find proper tires for your bike. The first of these numbers shows how many millimeters the tire is wide. The second number show the aspect ratio. And the third number indicats the diameter of the rim in inches. Looking online for motorcycle tires is a good way to easily find the right size at low price.
As per the data sheets Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 has a bigger ground clearance (135mm) than Hyosung GT125R (130mm). The parameter ground clearance refers to the space between the ground and underside of the chassis and is also called ride height of a motorcycle. In other words that is the shortest distance between the road surface and the lowest mechanical part of the motorcycle.
Yamaha Fazer FZ-1 appears to be faster than Hyosung GT125R with top speed of 246km/h against 119km/h for the other bike. However sources may vary as to whether these top speed parameters are precise or only approximate.
chain driven motorcycle These two motorcycles (Hyosung GT125R and Yamaha Fazer FZ-1) have the same type of final drive which is chain. One of the most economical way to drive horsepower from the engine to the rear wheel of the motorcycle is achieved with the chain drive and therefore it is still the most used among the three options by bike manufacturers. Many bikers may complain of the need of constant care though. Since the chain is exposed to dust, sun and rain it needs to be periodically cleaned and properly lubricated.
compression ratio is a value that represents the ratio of the volume of gas in the cylinder when the piston is at the lowest point it is ever gonna go down and the volume of gas when the piston is at its highest point. Based on the information from the technical data of the motorcycles the values are accordingly 11.3:1 for Hyosung GT125R and 11.5:1 for Yamaha Fazer FZ-1. This is actually the relation between the biggest and the smallest capacity of the combustion chamber. With internal combustion engines the higher compression ratio allows higher efficiency because the combustion temperature is reached with less fuel.
Motorcycle oil is one of the most important components that keeps the engine running smoothly. Synthetic engine oils are considered the most technically advanced one and are more expensive than the mineral oils which come at lower price. As a general rule it should be changed on every 6000 kilometers or 3700 miles. If you you synthetic oil then bigger mileage can be allowed between oil changes. Replacing the oil filter is also to be considered on each engine oil change. According to the technical specs the engine oil capacity is 1.5 litres for Hyosung GT125R and 3.7 litres for Yamaha Fazer FZ-1. When changing the oil it is advisable to put less than the specified oil capacity and to check the level. Pouring exactly the proper amount of oil needed is achieved by observing the level sight window or the dipstick marks.
